It is beyond counting how many times my legs have spun around in circles as I’ve cycled the gravel roads of Douglas County. This artwork was inspired by the many training rides that I did for my first 50-mile cycling event – the DK50 in 2019. Having spent most of my life adventuring through rugged terrain in South Africa, it is a joy to fully embrace and cherish the beauty of Kansas and bring it into my artwork.
